GETTING STARTED
WELCOME.
Thank you for using EASY MEMBERSHIP. You will find this software
very easy to use. However, we are providing this user manual to
assist you in using the program. Please call or write with your
comments or suggestions.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS.
EASY MEMBERSHIP can run on all 100% IBM compatible, including the
IBM PC, XT, and AT models. It requires DOS versions 2.1 or higher.
Your "CONFIG.SYS" file should allow at least 20 files to be open
(see your DOS manual).
INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE.
EASY MEMBERSHIP can run on a floppy disk system, but we recommend
that you install it on your hard drive. To install the software
enter the program disk into the "A" drive and type install, then
press the enter key. At this time, a new sub-directory called
"MEMBER4" will be created and all files needed to run the software
will be copied into the new sub-directory. Then enter "GO" to start
the program.

OPTION-1 --- DATABASE MENU.
Use this option when you need to browse, edit, add,
or delete a member record from the database. You
will find seven sub-options when you select this
option from the Main menu. See page 4 for these sub-
options.
OPTION-2 --- REPORT MENU.
Use this option when you need to print reports or
display information from the member's database to
the screen. You will find four sub-options when you
select this option from the Main Menu. See page 7
for these sub-options.

MAIN MENU
EASY MEMBERSHIP - is a menu-driven system that requires in most

OPTION-3 --- LABEL MENU.
Use this option when you need to print name and
address mailing labels. Labels can be printed for
any member within the database. You will find three
sub-options when you select this option from the
Main Menu. See page 27 for these sub-options.
OPTION-4 --- UPDATE MENU.
Use this option to keep the member's database and
system's database up-to-date at all times. You will
find eight sub-options when you select this option
from the Main Menu. See page 33 for these sub-
options.
OPTION-5 --- DISPLAY SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS.
In this option you will find special instructions
used to operate Easy Membership.
OPTION-6 --- PRINT REGISTRATION FORM.
This option will print a registration form to your
printer.
OPTION-7 --- PRINT PROGRAM USER MANUAL.
This option will the program user manual to your
printer.
OPTION-8 --- LICENSE/DISCLAIMER/COPYRIGHT.
Please read this important information. There are
some legal aspects about this system.
OPTION-9 --- EXIT EASY MEMBERSHIP.
Always use this option to exit EASY MEMBERSHIP. This
will insure that all database information is saved.

You can enter the Database Menu by selecting option-1 under the
Main Menu. It consist of seven sub-options.

OPTION-1 --- CREATE MEMBER TYPE-1 RECORD.
Use this option to create a member type-1 record.
The member type-1 record contains very personal
information about the member. A member type-1 record
will be needed for each member of you organization.
The member number will be automatically assigned by
Easy Membership. This is done to eliminate having
the same member number for two different members.
When adding a new member, a Last Name must be
entered. If a Last Name is not entered, the member
record will not be added.

You can enter the Database Menu by selecting option-1 under the
Main Menu. It consist of seven sub-options.
OPTION-2 --- CREATE MEMBER TYPE-2 RECORD.
Use this option to create a member type-2 record.
The member type-2 record will not contain the
personal information associated with a individual.
A member type-2 record may be created for
organization expenses such as lights, gas, and rent.
The member number will be automatically assigned by
Easy Membership. This is done to eliminate having
the same member number for two different members.
When adding a new member, an Account Title must be
entered. If an Account Title is not entered, the
record will not be added.
OPTION-3 --- EDIT MEMBER RECORD.
Use this option when you need to edit a member's
record. Every field except the member number
can be updated. The member number can not be
updated. If this field was allowed to be edited
duplicate member numbers may exist within the
system. You must enter the 6 digit member number to
access a member's record.
OPTION-4 --- BROWSE MEMBER RECORD.
Use this option when you need to browse a member's
record. No information about the member can be
edited. You must enter the six digit member number
to access a record.
OPTION-5 --- DELETE MEMBER RECORD.
Use this option to delete a member's record. You
must enter the six digit member number to access a
member record. This option will only mark the record
for deletion. You can still unmark the record from
deletion until you select the "UPDATE SYSTEM FILE"
option from the Update Menu.

OPTION-6 --- MEMBER NUMBER LOOK-UP.
Use this option to find a member number by using
the member's Last Name for type-1 members or using
the account Title for type-2 records. For example,
to find the member number for JOHN SMITH you will
type SMITH or SMI to obtain a display of all members
beginning with that last name.
OPTION-7 --- EXIT DATABASE MENU.
Use this option to exit the DATABASE MENU and return
to the MAIN MENU.

name, phone number, and year-to-date funds.
At the end of the report, a total of all active
members will be printed.

inactive members will be printed.
OPTION-4 --- MEMBERSHIP REPORT-1 FOR COLLECTION MEMBERS.
Use this option to print a list of collection
members in the database. The following information
will be printed for each member: member number,
name, phone number, and year-to-date funds.
At the end of the report, a total of all collection
members will be printed.
OPTION-5 --- MEMBERSHIP REPORT-1 FOR EXPENSE MEMBERS.
Use this option to print a list of expense
members in the database. The following information
will be printed for each member: member number,
name, phone number, and year-to-date funds.
At the end of the report, a total of all expense
members will be printed.
OPTION-6 --- EXIT MEMBERSHIP REPORT-1 MENU.
Use this option to exit the MEMBERSHIP REPORT-1 MENU

MEMBER NUMBER - A six digit number that will be automatically
assigned to each new member record.
LAST NAME - A 17 space character field that contains the
member's last name. You must enter data in this
field when adding a new record.
FIRST NAME - A 15 space character field that contains the
member's first name.
ADDRESS - A 33 space character field that contains the
member's address.
CITY - A 23 space character field that contains the
member's city address.
STATE - A 2 space character field that contains the
